ASIS established the Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award in 1980. The award recognizes the unique teaching contribution of an individual as a teacher of information science. It is administered by the Information Science Education Committee of ASIS&T. Thomson Reuters (now Clarivate Analytics) sponsors the cash award of $1,000. Several recipients have gone on to receive the ASIST Award of Merit and/or lead ASIST.
