Tefko Saracevicwas born in Zagreb, Croatia, November 24, 1930 and died Spring Lake, Michigan on October 5, 2024. He migrated to the USA and became a leading information scientist, known especially for his for his studies of the notion of relevance.

Saracevic graduated with a degree in electrical engineering

who was professor emeritus at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University.
