Institute of Information Scientists

The Institute of Information Scientists (IIS) was a British professional association founded in 1958. In 2002 it merged with the (British) Library Association to form the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).

Jason Farradane was instrumental in establishing the Institute of Information Scientists in 1958.

Publications

IIS published Bulletin of the Institute of Information Scientists, a predecessor of the Journal of Information Science.
