Arthur W. Elias (1927–2011) was an American editor, publisher, and author who shaped the information industry through his leadership in scholarly publishing and information science.

He served as editor of American Documentation (later the Journal of the American Society for Information Science) beginning in 1964, and went on to edit several key journals and volumes in the field. Elias also held roles in industry and academia, including positions at Wyeth Labs, the Institute for Scientific Information, and Drexel University.
Honored with the Watson Davis Award in 1977, he left a legacy of scholarship, publishing, and professional service.
