Jacques Tocatlian (1929 - 2019) was an Egyptian-born chemist and pioneering information scientist whose career spanned industry, academia, and international organizations. After early work as a research and literature chemist, he became a leader at UNESCO, where he advanced global efforts in scientific information sharing and standardization through programs like UNISIST. His career reflected a lifelong commitment to bridging cultures and disciplines in the pursuit of knowledge.
